Integral to the professional development of a painter is the exploration of art in Europe, and now, in its 18th year, the prestigious Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship is open once again and provides an opportunity to nourish the early careers of contemporary Australian painters.
The Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship is open to young painters aged between the ages of 20 and 30, with the winner receiving $30,000 and a three-month residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, which is administered by the Art Gallery of NSW.
This scholarship offers artists sustained time in Paris and has launched the careers of numerous notable contemporary artists.
