From 30 April to 3 July 2016, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is opening up its doors and transforming the Switch Gallery into several studio spaces to accommodate up to six artists.
The nine week tenure will provide opportunities for intense research, artistic creation, and professional and community networking. Studios Switch will also provide members of the public access to artists; revealing the countless ways in which artists work and will provide artists with direct access to Liverpool’s vibrant communities.
The call out is open to, but not limited to, visual artists, writers, musicians, dramaturges and curators in need of inspiration and space to achieve their creative pursuits.
Resources and spaces will be available for artists to deliver workshops and exhibitions. A range of equipment will be available for use and access to local facilities can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Each artist will be provided with a stipend of $3000.
Desk space will be provided and use of the gallery walls is permitted within designated areas.
Applicants will also be required to facilitate one workshop with the Public Programs and Education team.
