Part exhibition, part forum and part science-art workshop, 'Amnesia Lab' is a new kind of gallery event.
'Amnesia Lab' is an ongoing collaborative research project involving artists, writers, and neuropsychologists from the UK and Australia. For 'Signs of Life', the 'Amnesia Lab' looks into the human brain and the processes of memory.
Building on this collaborative research project, the team, including artist Shona Illingworth (Kent University), memory specialist Professor Martin A. Conway (City University, London), neuropsychologist Catherine Loveday (Westminster University) and NIEA researchers Jill Bennett and Volker Kuchelmeister, will stage a series of talks in specially designed environments, utilising a range of media and technologies such as EEG sonification, drawing, and immersive interaction.
