This project has as its principal rationale two major purposes. The first concerns the well-established principle that by exposing the output of an individual artist in a purposefully selected retrospective exhibition and by the production of a carefully researched book, the value of that artist's contribution and its relevance to a cultural milieu can begin to be acknowledged and assessed. This exhibition focused on the individual artist, an Pintupi painter, Charlie Tjaruru Tjungurrayi.
