An exhibition of contemporary Chinese drawings. Drawings act as metaphors for both the personal and political, public and private, domestic or subversive - works that deal with individual narratives or social commentary. The metaphor of Liberation Feet refers to the crippling effects of the perverse practice of foot binding - a distorted notion of ideal feminine beauty and sexuality, and how this can be likened to a regimented academic drawing system based upon the repetition of established canons.
